I hadn’t planned to do any portraits on a recent trip to Mount Rainier. It was meant as a simple day hiking the Paradise meadows. But four Harleys rolled to a stop as I returned to the visitor center parking lot. Their riders, members of a Harley-Davidson owners group in Seattle, intrigued me. I couldn’t pass up the chance to photograph them only minutes off the road. I wasn’t sure if they’d be up for it, but they were happy to oblige. They introduced themselves, told me about a trip they were planning, and even recommended a movie. Two of them had known each for 17 years. I took four photos, including the two here. Men and their hogs. Ride on.
