
She was on a lunch hour from her Spokane bank job when I saw her in Riverfront Park. She was only a short distance from the very active fountain area (visible over her right shoulder), but her shady bench was surprisingly well-insulated from the commotion. It gave her a chance to read quietly … when she wasn’t posing for photographers doing street portraits. (She was a very good sport about that, by the way.)
