Sconemakers

It was like getting a long string of green lights while driving across town in rush hour.  Unreal.  That’s how I felt when I walked up to a scone bakery at the state fair at 7:00 pm and there was no line.  Unreal.  Customers are usually dozens deep at that hour.  It gave me a chance to ask for a photo without inconveniencing any customers behind me.  The jam and assembly crew even called the oven man (left) into the picture.  And when the oven bell announced that another batch was finished, they all broke into song.  (I can’t remember the words. If anyone knows, please post them below!)  A moment later, after collecting my scones, there was a line of customers waiting to order.  Normal life resumed.
