TV Peeps with the Most Tweeps – Spokane
Published by Steve Campion. Category: Arts, Culture & MediaWe ranked the social savvy of Seattle TV personalities in June. Now we turn our Twitter meter on the news folks in Spokane. Why Twitter? While television broadcasts news from reporter to viewer, social media lets viewers interact and report news back to the station. It can be a fan-base for news people but it also adds many extra eyes witnessing changing weather, traffic snarls, local sports, or a forgotten tag on a bad wardrobe day. And no social media outlet gives such instant feedback than Twitter. It’s no wonder many TV people attract and/or foster a strong Twitter following
Who has the most Twitter followers in the Spokane television market? It’s Tim Lewis, sportscaster for KREM-TV (right). Covering the teams of the Inland Empire and Palouse, his frequent tweets and interactions make his Twitter feed popular with sports fans. Lewis has more than twice the followers of Anthony Gomes, number 2 on the Spokane list. On the other hand, Gomes is one of six KHQ newsers to fit into the Top 10. Channel 6’s savvy social media news team is helped along with a good “Interact” section on its website.
The most followed Spokane TV people on Twitter are listed below. Do you follow any of them? Whose tweets do you enjoy most?
